How do I let go?

It is one of the most common questions I get.  Luckily, it’s not as hard as you might think but it can take some time.

To let go means to release your negativity towards whatever you wish to attract.  This negativity creates resistance which can slow and possibly cease your progress. But there is a fantastic and easy solution to this common problem and it’s called belief.

Belief, trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.  This is a key ingredient to manifesting anything you want. Belief that you can achieve something and faith that it will happen. This literally pulls your desires towards you.

Unfortunately most people are naturally skeptical of their own abilities and that is why some people never even bother trying to go after what they want. They don’t want to experience the pain of “failure.”  Completely understandable, no one wants to fail at anything. But what if?

What if you were certain you could do and have anything?

What if you were convinced that you can do what you set out to do?

Do you think you would act differently towards achieving it?

You bet!

For example let’s say there are two people, same age, same economic background, same education and same resources. They both want to start a retail business. The first person is 100% certain they can do this, they can make it successful, they know it’s going to be hard work but they know they can pull it off and the reward will be worth it. The second person wants the success just as bad, they know the reward is worth it too but they doubt their abilities.

Do you think their beliefs are affecting the decisions they make?

They sure do.

Who do you think is more likely to make their dream a reality? The first person of course because they let go and are certain, even if they experience a few hiccups along the way, they will make it happen. This person taps their full potential. The second person might be more likely to quit after a few setbacks because of the doubts in their ability. This person does not tap their full potential.

Anyone that has reached any form of success did not always know how they were going to do it, but they let go and were certain they would do it, it all started with the belief in themselves.  That is the fantastic part about having the ability to let go and create belief. You don’t need to know how to do it because that will always fall into place. You just need to know that you will do it. With belief one can accomplish anything.

Luckily for us there is a proven method to letting go and creating belief, even if you don’t believe just yet!

So how can we create 100% certainty in our ability to achieve or do something?

Well, let’s start with what you believe right now. Take a good look at your goal that you’ve set and write down every belief you have related to that goal, good or bad, just be honest with yourself.  What are your deep, honest beliefs about you and your goal? Take some time to really discover them and become conscious of them.

You should have a list of what you currently believe about yourself and your goal. Now I want for you to go through that list and select the “bad” beliefs, the beliefs that will hold you back. Go through and analyze the bad beliefs with a few questions.

Where did this belief come from?

Is it really true?

Is it just someone’s opinion?

Can’t I change this if I really wanted to?

What I want you to do is doubt this belief. Plant the seed of doubt in any negative belief you have. Doubt is a very powerful tool which will allow you to let go of any negativity you have towards your dreams.  When you begin to doubt by asking questions like “is this really true?” Any question you ask yourself, your mind will naturally look for references to validate it. And it’s very easy for your mind to find a reference for just about anything. The more you doubt a belief, the easier it is to break and let go.

Go over each negative belief you have about yourself and your goal, or any area in your life and ask questions that create doubt. Do this over and over with each negative belief until it gets weaker and you eventually let go of that belief that holds you back. Do not do this exercise with your positive beliefs, just any negative ones you have.

After you have thoroughly doubted your beliefs holding you back we need to rebuild. Let’s start re-building by writing out the beliefs you need to achieve your goal.

What do you need to believe about yourself in order to make your dream a reality? Write them out in detail. You should have a list of things you need to believe about yourself in order to achieve greatness.

The next step is to influence your subconscious mind.

Napoleon Hill said: “Your subconscious mind is like a fertile garden, in which weeds will grow in abundance if the seeds of more desirable crops are not sown within.

Our conscious mind can be defined as the part of the mind which is awake and aware at the present moment.  Our subconscious mind is defined as the part of the mind which one is not fully aware but influences one’s actions and feelings.  Therefore if we want to create certainty about a belief that will affect our actions and decisions, we must influence the subconscious mind.

There are two ways in which to create belief in yourself about anything you wish. Remember, a belief is something you are certain about. You are certain about it because you have had an experience or someone has influenced you to believe that.

The first way to begin consciously creating positive beliefs and letting go of negative ones is by borrowing experiences. What do I mean by borrowing experiences?  Well, many beliefs come from experiences you have had personally or have heard about.  If you have never experienced something yourself or consciously became aware of someone else’s experience and applied it to your life, you are most likely limited with that belief. You simply don’t have the experiences to create certainty and belief.  So you’re going to have to borrow someone else’s experiences.

This is one of the ways I go about my life.  Many things I’ve done before, I’ve never had any experience doing.  So I borrow from other people by either finding someone who has produced the result I want or by reading about someone who has. Your mindset has to make a shift and say “If they can do it, so can I.” You’ll often find that the people you find have had a similar journey.

Find a mentor or information (books, videos, audio, etc.) about others and immerse yourself in their experiences on a daily basis.

If you want to go on a hike to somewhere that you’ve never been before it is usually best to take someone who knows the trails. The same thing is true if you want to do something you’ve never done before.  Find someone who has already done what you want to do. Ask if they can mentor you or simply take them out to lunch to ask them questions. Find out what you need to know and use their experiences as your own to create certainty.

The second way to create belief is by using daily incantations.  Incantations are a tried and tested way to effectively create belief about anything, good or bad. One can ruin their life by repeating dis-empowering thoughts frequently. One can also take their life to a whole new level by repeating empowering thoughts frequently. They are meant to create belief through emotionalized repetition. If you tell yourself anything enough, eventually you will begin to believe it.

An incantation is similar to an affirmation which tells you to repeat something to yourself over and over by reading a statement.  However, an incantation is different.  An incantation is defined as a series of words said as a magic spell or charm.

So what needs to happen to put a “belief” spell on ourselves?

Well, it’s quite simple and there are a few small strategies that make it extremely effective. You need to start by writing out a powerful statement of whatever you would like to manifest or a character trait you would like to have. A general incantation can go something like this:

“I know for a fact that I am capable of achieving my goal of _________. I am confident in my ability to do so and demand that I make it a reality. I will accept nothing less and no one can or ever will hold me back from attaining it.”

Or “If (insert name) can (insert accomplishment) then so can I.”

You can create any kind of incantation for any kind of belief you want. Confidence, happiness, love, wealth. The objective is to influence your subconscious mind.

When you repeat this incantation to yourself you must do so with two things; emotion and motion. Plain unemotional words will not influence your subconscious mind. The only known way to allow a statement to influence your subconscious mind is by mixing emotion and motion with it. Add emotion and intensity to your statement. And add motion while repeating the statement by using your body. Stand up, move around, and use your arms as you are creating belief. While repeating your statement, see yourself already in possession of what you wish to do, be or have.

By doing this consistently you communicate your desire directly to your subconscious mind in a spirit of absolute faith.  Through repetition of your incantations, you voluntarily create thought habits which are favorable to your efforts of manifesting your desires.

Repeat your incantations – first thing in the morning, midday, and just before you go to sleep. I guarantee that these proven steps will help you to let go of anything holding you back and create the belief you need to attract what you want!
